Changing Colors. Changing Perspectives.

August 21, 2020

With the hustle and bustle of summer on its way out, and fall knocking on the door, many find this as a time to slow down, hit pause, and shift perspectives. Perhaps now more than ever, with many jobs moving to remote work and college kids staying home, the traditional norms of travel have evolved toward something that may look a little different. However, if you simply shift the lens you may find that you like what you see.

Getting Outside

Is there anything more rejuvenating than spending time outside on a fall foliage vacation? Our onsite amenities are unbeatable for the outdoor enthusiast. We offer onsite hiking and snowshoe trails with maps to go with them as well as guided kayaking, mountain biking, and hiking tours. If you’re looking to slow it down rather than speed things up, our outdoor seating areas included a screened-in porch, decks, and lawn seating with a view. All guests all have access to the private town beach on Crystal Lake. If you’re curious about going back in time to a lake that isn’t overpopulated, this is the experience for you. After all, it’s the simple things in life that can bring the most joy.

Reset Values

“This is a nest of peace, twice blessed.” – Helen Keller about Snowville.

Built as a summer home in 1916, the property boasts a commanding and memorable view of the White Mountains. With touches of an era gone by, like daily country breakfast and board games for couples, the property is perfectly appointed to allow you to spend more time with loved ones and unwind. Easy to drive to, and quiet when you arrive, it’s the perfect sanctuary. Close your day with a visit to our onsite Restaurant and Pub. It does not disappoint!

Create a “Bubble Group”

Did you know that you probably already have a “bubble group” started? It could be your group of close friends, your extended family members, your neighbors, or even your co-workers. A “bubble” is an unofficial term used to describe the cluster of people outside your household with whom you feel comfortable spending time with during the pandemic. Looking to travel with your bubble? Consider taking over one of our onsite houses like the Chimney House – it has four queen-size rooms, each with a gas fireplace, sitting area, coffee station, private bath, and air conditioning. The comfortably furnished common area also has a gas fireplace, microwave, and refrigerator for your convenience. Consider guided group hikes outside together, lawn games, or simply enjoying each other’s company in a privatized setting.

Reimagine Fall Activities

Like all things these days, it seems as though reimagining our traditional fall activities is on the horizon. Sure, there will be no country fairs this year, no fall concerts, or crowded Oktoberfests. But guess what? This can be a good thing. Create your own fall festival with scenic drives (think: no fair traffic!), live music here at the Inn, and apple picking off of a quiet country road.

As summer winds down, our best rooms for Fall and Winter are filling up quickly. Be sure to reserve your room online  or contact us with questions. We look forward to welcoming you.
