2022 New Year’s Resolutions

December 13, 2021

With New Year’s right around the corner, many are thinking about what changes or resolutions they would like to make for the year ahead. Like any other year, we are all looking forward to positive changes in the future, but sometimes it’s easier to make the resolutions than it is to actually stick to them. Well, not this year. Great resolution ideas? We’ve got you covered. Simple (and fun!) ways to make them happen? At The Snowvillage Inn, we’ve got those too.

Resolution: Time With Loved Ones

If spending more time with the ones you love is at the top of your resolutions list, planning a getaway with them might be the best way to make it happen. Our Carriage House and Chimney House rooms are the perfect option. Located in a renovated old barn, the Carriage House has a feel of time gone by. Each one of the eight charming rooms has a comfortable sitting area and private bath. The carriage house even features a common area that opens up to the second floor and library. Featuring a small refrigerator and Keurig, this is the perfect place to gather for apres skiing snacks or a family game night. Another great option is the newest building on the property, the Chimney House; featuring four queen-size rooms, each with a gas fireplace, sitting area, coffee station, and private bath.

Resolution: Unplug More Often

Unplugging more often seems to be at the top of everyone’s list, but oftentimes at home, it’s easier said than done. A relaxing winter escape to the White Mountains of New Hampshire is the perfect excuse to put that device away and experience the outdoors. With snowshoe trails just outside our doorstep, you can meander through acres of trails that open up to majestic views and roam under the snow-covered trees. It’s truly a breathtaking experience. In the evening, leave that phone in your room and enjoy a hearty meal at Max’s Restaurant and Pub. Featuring classic New England favorites (think: Clam Chowder) as well as creative and thoughtfully inspired dishes like a Sweet & Hot Noodle Bowl or, there’s something for everyone; and the views simply cannot be beaten. Round out your day with a cocktail,  classic board games, and a relaxing fire. We promise you won’t even miss your phone!

Resolution: Exercise More

If the key to exercising more is enjoying it, then winter activities here in New Hampshire are a sure way to find something that you love to do. Whether it’s cross country skiing at King Pine, or Ice Skating at Crystal Lake, there are plenty of great ways to get moving in the fresh air this winter. If you’re looking for more of a thrill, consider downhill skiing at nearby King Pine, Cranmore, Attitash, Wildcat, or Bretton Woods. There are so many amazing options within driving distance that you could pick a new activity every day of your stay and never get bored.

Resolution: Learn Something New

If learning something new is on your radar for 2022, there are plenty of opportunities here in the Mt. Washington Valley. Take a self-guided tour on the property to learn how to identify trees, animal prints in the snow, and birds. Before you head out, be sure to check out the lending library which features free bird and tree identifiers. They have a lending library with bird, tree identifiers.  The nearby Tamworth Distillery is a great place to learn about the distilling process, and they even offer mixologist classes from time to time. If you love museums, a visit to the New England Ski Museum in North Conway is a great way to spend a morning. There, you will learn about North Conway’s rich ski history; how the Snow Train arrived from Boston, the introduction of snowmaking in the area, and how lift service skiing came to be.

Resolution: More Self Care
