Five Must Do Adventures For Mud Season

March 29, 2022

Spring is officially here, and we couldn’t be more excited about it. With the change in seasons comes a rebirth of beauty here in the White Mountains, and a refreshed list of fun activities to do in the area; even if it may be a little muddy out there. So are you ready for a classic New Hampshire adventure? Here are some of our springtime favorites.

Hike To Tuckerman Ravine

If you think Tuckerman Ravine in the spring is just for the die-hard skier, think again! Sure, the ravine is a mecca for skiing enthusiasts in the spring season, but it’s also a great hike for non-skiers as well. Begin your day by picking up a picnic lunch from Jackson’s J Town Deli, and then hike on up to the lunch rocks to watch the skiers in action. We guarantee you’ll feel rejuvenated from all the fresh air, sunshine, and springtime stoke.

Tour The Many Waterfalls in the Whites

Touring New Hampshire’s waterfalls is a fun activity in the spring because the winter runoff has all of the falls raging. In what Yankee Magazine calls “the ultimate rock concert”, Mt Washington Valley, NH offers a host of ideal locations for waterfall viewing. Many of these mesmerizing falls are accessible by car and/or a short walk. Be sure to add Arethusa, Sabaday, and Diana’s Bath to the list, and don’t forget your camera!

Hit The Road For Your Very Own Antiques Road Show

Spring is the perfect time for antiquing, and rural New Hampshire and Maine are THE places for it. Spend a day meandering through the area’s countryside, down back roads, and discover some beautiful treasures to take home. Some of our favorite stops include Valley Vintage & Antique Finds in downtown North Conway, and Libby’s Antiques in Cornish Maine. Bonus: A trip antiquing in the Cornish, Maine area is the PERFECT excuse for lunch at Krista’s Restaurant. Believe us when we say that this restaurant will quickly become one of your favorite dining destinations (other than Max’s Pub of course!)

Live Like a Local In Eaton, N.H.

There are a million reasons why we love our beautiful little town, and springtime is high up on that list. Spend a day experiencing all things Eaton. Stretch your legs with a hike up Foss Mountain, where you will experience stunning views and the peaceful serenity of nature. Afterward, grab a bite from the Eaton Village Store and relax at the town beach on Crystal Lake.
