Five Valentine’s Day Activities To Fill Your Heart With Joy

January 6, 2022

For many, Valentine’s Day can feel like a holiday made to keep the greeting card companies in business. Sure, we’ve all been on the receiving and giving end of chocolates and roses, but there are many different ways to make the holiday unique and meaningful for your loved one. Why not get creative this year? We’ve put together a list of some of our favorites, so you can get on out there and spread some love this winter season.

Spend Time Together Outdoors

Whether it’s spending a day downhill skiing at nearby Purity Springs, ice skating on nearby Crystal Lake, or snowshoeing on our very own trails, spending time outside with the one you love is a great way to reconnect, spend quality time with each other, and enjoy the area in the winter. Did you know we have our very own snowshoe trail called Lover’s Lane? This romantic trail is lined with hearts and leads to a little pink cabin in the woods!

Other great outdoor options in the area include tubing at nearby Cranmore Mountain, or a Sleigh Ride at the picturesque Nestlenook resort.

Try Something New

There is no better bonding experience than trying something new together.

How about winter hiking? A guided hike or snowshoe in the White Mountains is a great way to see the area from a unique and snowy perspective. Learn all about the wildlife, forestry, and history of the White Mountains all while enjoying time with your loved one.

If you’re looking to do something inside, a card reading by Sara Moore, a local psychic medium for people and pets, will be insightful and fun.

Dine In Style

No Valentine’s experience is complete without an epicurean adventure created by an award-winning chef. At Max’s Restaurant and Pub, you’ll experience casual fine dining, breathtaking views, and warm hospitality in an intimate setting. Consider sharing some delicious appetizers like the Norumbega oysters or Chinatown pork dumplings, indulging in a sirloin steak or pan-roasted duck breast. There are also fantastic vegetarian options and a fresh catch of the day from nearby Maine. Don’t forget to finish the evening off with a cocktail in front of our romantic fireplace!

Create New Memories

If you’re a music lover, then a trip to the nearby Stone Mountain Arts Center is a fun way to create memories with your significant other. SMAC has a full lineup of artists including Della Mae and Valentine’s Day with Dana Cunningham and Carol Noonan. We even offer a special Stone Mountain Arts Center package, so that all of the details are already planned out for you!

Leave The Details To Us

When creating your Valentine’s experience this year, you may consider leaving the details to us so that you can focus on what really matters; your loved one. With our Valentine’s Experience, we’ve thought of all the good stuff, like placing a chilled bottle of prosecco and cheese in your room for arrival, including a special Valentine’s day dinner at Max’s Restaurant and Pub, full country breakfasts each morning during your stay, and even snowshoe rentals. In front of our fireplace is a great place to renew your vows, so be sure to ask us for details.
