Simple Holiday Cheer

October 15, 2020

Remember the years where the holidays seemed so much simpler? Days spent playing in freshly fallen snow, followed by warm fires in the fireplace shared with dear friends and family were the norm. Now, we seem to find ourselves consumed by finding the latest tech gadget, often rushing through the holidays, and missing out on the quality time spent in the company of our loved ones.

While the holidays may look a bit different this year, there is plenty of good old fashioned memory-making fun to be had, right here in New Hampshire. Consider a visit in December for a classic New England gathering experience to slow down, hit reset, and prepare for Christmas.

Bright Spots To Look Forward To

Quiet Time In A Serene Setting – Spend a morning exploring our quiet private trail system on snowshoes, and be greeted with the inn’s holiday decorations and cheer upon your return. Soothe your soul this season as you snuggle into one of our cozy guest rooms complete with your own fireplace or mountain view and luxurious amenities.

Fine Dining – Leave the cooking to us. Whether it’s fresh muffins and aromatic local coffee in the morning or the gourmet food expertly prepared for you in Max’s Restaurant and Pub for dinner, you can relax and treat yourself to nourishing meals amidst a stunning backdrop of nature.

Quintessential Local Holiday Shopping – If ever there was a year to ditch the trips to the big box stores, this would be it. If you’re looking to fill those stockings and space under the tree with high quality and meaningful gifts, the small independently owned shops in North Conway are the perfect places to visit. Whether you visit Zeb’s General Store, The Penguin Gallery, or The League of NH Craftsmen, you’re supporting locally owned businesses while gifting meaningful items. Local artisans are aplenty in these parts, so plan some time exploring the roads less traveled to explore galleries and shops off the beaten path.

Nostalgic Memories – What are the activities that get you into the holiday spirit? Is it sledding with your kids, exploring villages adorned with Christmas lights, or cutting down your very own Christmas tree? With opportunities to make your own wreath just down the street at Sunshine Daydream Farms, or even take a horse-drawn carriage ride through the moonlit woods at dusk, the Mt. Washington Valley is the perfect place to get in some Christmas Cheer.

The Smells and Tastes of the Holidays – Who can resist the smell of fresh-baked cookies? Giving or receiving, a festive tin of cookies are always an appreciated gift. Guests at the Snowvillage Inn will be treated to some of our favorite recipes to savor during your stay or bake when you get home.

This holiday season, we hope you let us help in making some lasting memories for your family. After all, it’s the time spent with others that matters the most. We’ve created a special “Christmas in Snowville” package to help get you back to the basics.

While the Country Inns of the White Mountains have canceled their annual Inn to Inn Cookie Tour, Snowvillage Inn is pleased to offer guests a pre-holiday retreat to recreate some of what makes that event so special (complete with our favorite holiday cookies).
