The Moats

Located in North Conway, the iconic Moat Mountain Range is a great place to get panoramic views beyond expectation of the Mt. Washington Valley. The range contains three main peaks; South, Middle, and North Moat Mountains. You can reach all three peaks via the Moat Mountain Trail which traverses between Passaconway Road and Echo Lake State Park; home of the well known climbing ledges of White Horse and Cathedral. Want to make an entire “Moat” themed day? Be sure to visit Moat Mountain Brewery after your hike for cold locally crafted New Hampshire Brews and excellent pub fare. 

Kearsarge

This hike features 360 degree views and its very own fire tower. This is a challenging route, taking nearly five hours to complete. It’s popular for hiking, but also for snowshoeing in the winter, and trail running year round, so you’ll likely encounter other people while exploring. Make a day of it and pack a lunch from the Eaton Village Store

Mt. Washington

As the highest peak in the Northeastern United States (6,288 ft), Mt. Washington is known for its extreme weather and breathtaking views spanning as far east as the Atlantic Ocean, and up to 130 miles west into New York. No matter the season, the accessibility that Mt. Washington offers to view unique alpine fauna and flora is breathtaking and a must see if you’re visiting the White Mountains of New Hampshire for the first time. Hikedrive, or take the Cog Railway to the summit.

Crystal Lake

Located just down the road from the resort, this Crystal Lake features clear water with a sandy private beach. A great part of staying with us is that your room reservation grants you access to this quiet waterbody, perfect for an afternoon swim or paddle away from the crowds.

Ossipee Lake

Ossipee Lake is the sixth largest lake in the state and is well known for its sandbars, great for anchoring and swimming on a sunny afternoon. Consider renting a boat at the nearby Goodhue Boat Company in Freedom, New Hampshire to experience the thrill of boating and tubing.

Silver Lake

This beautiful lake is located in Madison, New Hampshire, and is a great place to canoe or kayak. Visitors have access to three beaches (Nichols Beach, Monument Beach, and Kennett Beach) with crystalline waters to enjoy swimming and snorkeling. A boat launch ramp is located at the south end of Silver Lake. Summertime brings sailboats, rowing shells, and kayaks plowing the pristine waters. Silver Lake lures anglers with catches of smallmouth bass, pickerel, horned pout, lake trout, rainbow trout, and whitefish.

Lake Chocurua

Spanning from Crawford Notch all the way to the Atlantic Ocean, the Saco River provides a variety of recreation opportunities including paddling, fishing, and floating. Renting a boat or float provides convenience and even offers a shuttle ride so you don’t have to worry about getting picked up at the end of your adventure!

Located in the center of the village, the Eaton Village Store is a small town country store that has it all. Featuring local gifts, groceries, a country diner serving breakfast and lunch, and a full coffee shop, this store is the perfect place to start your day.
